The Sonic fandom is probably the one fandom I got really invested in (if writing over 160k words of fanfic says anything).
Sonic himself is such an interesting hero, with great qualities and flaws alike. He values freedom, life and nature, friendship, making the most out of everyday. He believes in giving chances at redemption. He truly cares about the world he lives in.
But he can also be stubborn, distracted, impulsive, too nonchalant, too forgiving. Probably needs some therapy, too!
My favourite character is Tails for sure. I relate a lot to him: goofy yet takes things seriously, a nerd who prefers relying on smarts, can be shy but truly enjoys being around his friends, likes playful banter, autistic...
Recently I've grown fond of Surge and Kitsunami from the IDW comics. They're cool, troubled antagonists trying to overcome a traumatic past, and figure out their place in a chaotic world. Love their punk-ish vibes too!
